October 12, 2025

Kanye West is one of the most influential artists of the 21st century. He started out as a producer for artists like Jay-Z and later released his first album, The College Dropout (2004), which revolutionized hip hop. Throughout his career, he has blended different musical genres and created innovative albums such as My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy and 808s & Heartbreak.

In addition, he founded the fashion brand Yeezy, which has had a major impact on urban culture.

Kanye changed the sound of rap, inspired many artists, and won over 20 Grammy Awards. His creativity has influenced both music and fashion.

Kanye West is considered one of the most controversial figures in the entertainment world due to his unpredictable behavior and provocative statements. His controversy began in 2009 when he interrupted Taylor Swift’s speech at the MTV Awards, a moment that shaped his public image. Over the years, he has sparked debate for his political support of Donald Trump, his failed 2020 presidential campaign, and highly criticized comments such as when he said that slavery “was a choice.” Moreover, his constant conflicts with other artists and the media exposure of his personal life have kept him in the spotlight. In 2022, he lost major brand deals, including with Adidas, due to comments considered antisemitic. Although many see him as a musical genius, his blunt attitude and impulsive actions have made him one of the most controversial and debated artists of his generation.

One of Kanye West’s most controversial songs is “Famous” (2016). This song sparked major controversy because it includes a line where Kanye mentions Taylor Swift, saying that he “made her famous,” referring to the 2009 MTV Awards incident when he interrupted her on stage.
